Abstract: | This paper is part of the final report for a 2-year joint research project funded by Hokkai Gakuen University (HGU) to develop a website for the Faculty of Humanities (the Faculty). The purpose of the website was multifold, mainly focussed on presenting an overview of the Faculty: mission, organization, members, and significant activities. The website was targeted at an audience that ranged from those within the HGU community to prospective students as well as anyone who has a general interest in Japanese university education. It was also considered important to develop a database in order to present the Faculty achievements in historical perspective. Besides descriptions of the content and development of the website, this paper presents an example of how the website can be used by instructors to communicate with students and publish their work. |
